I recently did some work on the jim beam double oak and had heard that many people preferred the jim beam black.

It belongs in any environment where you care less about having great bourbon in your glass and more about not having shitty bourbon in your glass. Jim beam black is 86 proof and double aged meaning it spends twice as long as jim beam original 8 years in charred white oak barrels. The result is a full bodied bourbon with an extra level of elegance and refinement that s meant to be sipped and savored. As i mentioned before this is an easy drinking bourbon and would be appropriate as an inexpensive go to for cocktails or mixers. I prefer the black label too.

A have a glass or two while grilling and watching the fights kind of bourbon. And of course just like its younger brother our original jim beam it s best when shared with others. Jim beam black extra aged bourbon was a real surprise for me. The color is a dark golden amber.
